Episode 4 of Mix With Orijin came in hot, sparkly, and full of festive flavor, literally. From the moment Lara announced she was making one of her favorite holiday cocktails, the Orijin Gold, you could already feel Christmas in the air. Standing side-by-side with her official “taster” (Basketmouth, who takes this role VERY seriously), Lara wasted no time diving into the mix. She kicked things off by teaching us something new: this cocktail starts with a dry shake, shaking in a shaker without ice. Why? Because it blends the flavors smoothly before introducing the chill.
Then came the real magic. She added 40 ml of the star of the show, Orijin Bitters, followed by 10 ml of honey for soft sweetness and 15 ml of lime juice to balance everything out. A quick dry shake, and into the ice-filled glass it went. But Lara wasn’t done, not at all. She topped the drink with 60 ml of ginger ale, instantly giving the cocktail that festive sparkle.
Next came the glamour: a lime wheel. A sprinkle of edible glitter “in the spirit of the festive season.” A touch of mint. One gentle stir…
And just like that, Orijin Gold was born, glowing, refreshing, aromatic, and ready for the official taste test.
Basketmouth took a sip… paused… then unleashed a dramatic series of “Damn! Damn!” that said EVERYTHING. Heavenly. Festive. Bold. This cocktail had it all.
To wrap the episode, Lara dropped a fun fact: Did you know that eating ginger raises your body temperature? In some cultures, people take ginger before heading into cold weather because it warms you from the inside out. Suddenly, the ginger in Orijin Gold made even more sense; it’s a festive drink with literal warmth.
