The Ayo Charity Foundation proudly celebrates the success of its 4th Annual Elite 30 Camp, held on Saturday, August 3rd, and Sunday, August 4th, at the esteemed American International School Lagos. The event gathered Nigeria’s most talented young basketball players for an unforgettable weekend focused on skill development, teamwork, and inspiration.
With the support of the American International School Lagos, Encore Media Ltd., and Pocari Sweat, this year’s camp had a profound impact on participants from Delta, Ogun, Rivers, Oyo, and Lagos States. The camp offered top-tier training, professional coaching, and invaluable mentorship, emphasizing the importance of basketball skills, camaraderie, dedication, and perseverance.
Though unable to attend due to ongoing protests in the country, Ayo Charity Foundation founder Ayodeji Egbeyemi expressed his pride in the camp’s achievements: “Each year, we witness these young athletes grow not just in their basketball abilities but also in their character. Our mission is to empower them to believe in their potential and strive for excellence on and off the court. This year’s camp showcased remarkable progress among the participants and congratulations to Lewis for winning the MVP.”
During the two-day event, boys aged 13 to 18 engaged in intensive training, scrimmages, and workshops led by experienced coaches, including the camp’s first-ever female coach, Adenike Olawuyi, a celebrated Nigerian basketball player.
At the end of Day 2, the camp proudly announced Lewis Uvwo as the MVP of the 4th Annual Elite 30 Camp. Lewis’s exceptional performance and leadership set him apart, reflecting his dedication and hard work. We look forward to seeing him achieve great things in the world of basketball while also building a better life for himself.
