Naija’s Hottest Artists create the perfect Soundtrack to JDOT

The third edition of the Jameson Distillery on Tour (JDOT), held from September 27th to October 1st, 2024, was not only a celebration of whiskey and pop culture, but also a unique sonic experience. This year, JDOT gathered some of Lagos’ most renowned DJs and artists, transforming the majestic National Theatre into the ultimate party venue.
JDOT provided a memorable music experience with a carefully planned program that included the finest of Afrobeats, electronic music, and everything in between. The five-day festival featured live acts as well as high-energy DJ sets that kept attendees on their feet, dancing and vibing to the rhythm of Naija’s distinct sound.

An Eclectic Mix of Music and Energy
The first day set the tone for what was to come, as Jameson collaborated with Afrovibes, a local music platform recognized for bringing together top-tier performers and creating spectacular live experiences. The Afrovibes schedule included a broad mix of Afrobeats stars and up-and-coming artists, keeping the audience engaged as the evening progressed.
Headliner Sunday Okpo & The Solem Sounds, Lady Donli, Olusegun & The Stallions, FirstKlas, who were performing in Lagos for the first time, and many others captivated the audience with their distinct blend of Afro-soul and electronic music. Their energetic stage presence and powerful vocals added a new depth to the day’s activities, merging worldwide sounds with local Nigerian rhythms.

Day 2’s Skating Soundtrack: DJs and Skaters Unite
Day 2 of JDOT focused on skating culture, and the music lineup complemented the day’s edgy, high-energy attitude. The skating performances, anchored by DenCity, were accompanied by live DJ sets that kept the adrenaline flowing. WeAreAllChemicals, one of Nigeria’s most well-known house DJs, was on the wheels of steel.
As skaters executed jaw-dropping acrobatics and stunts, WeAreAllChemicals’s smooth transitions between tracks kept the energy at its peak. Their amazing genre blending, ranging from soulful house to amapiano, provided the ideal soundtrack for the day’s events, making the experience as much about the music as it was about the skating. The night ended with an electric performance by Blaqbonez.

The Vogue Boys Take Over: Splashy Fun
On Day 3, the Vogue Boys took over JDOT with a one-of-a-kind water park experience that combined fun water party games and music. While the water fights were a big highlight of the day, the music was just as unforgettable. Guests were treated to an immersive audio-visual experience as DJs curated a soundtrack that matched the Vogue Boys’ bright, creative spirit.
The day’s music headliner was Terry G complimented by DJ Dope Caesar, a Lagos staple recognized for her ability to read a crowd and keep guests on their feet.

Closing the Show with a Bang: Mainland Block Party
Mainland Block Party, known for its high-energy events celebrating Lagos’ booming party culture, put together a lineup of DJs and live artists who brought the house down.
Some of the biggest names in Afrobeats took the stage, including a surprise appearance by headliner Reminisce, whose contagious enthusiasm and chart-topping tunes had the audience singing along word for word. As he performed his hit song “Local Rapper”, the audience exploded in cheers, cementing the performance as one of the tour’s most memorable highlights.
Supporting Reminisce were Terry Apala and Kashcoming with the night’s DJ, Consequence rounded off the night, keeping the celebration rolling with back-to-back hits that had everyone dancing.

A Celebration of Culture and Sound
“We’ve always stated that Jameson is about authenticity, inclusivity, and bringing people together”, said Bodam Taiwo, Head of Portfolio at Pernod Ricard Nigeria. “Music is such an effective instrument for connecting, and this year’s lineup was carefully picked to reflect that attitude.
