5 Rooftop Spots to Visit in Lagos

Lagos boasts of an array of fancy restaurants, bars and lounges, but if you are looking for something unique, rooftops are a perfect option. We have rounded up some nice rooftop restaurants/lounges with astonishing views of the city that are worth visiting in Lagos whether with your crew, partner or alone.

1. Danfo Bistro

Definitely has to come top on our list and you know why, the reference to the iconic Lagos public transport buses ‘Danfo’. Located in Ikoyi, Danfo Bistro showcases an artistic and rustic ambience inspired by the city of Lagos. The rooftop is best enjoyed at night with millennials bopping to alternative music especially on Friday nights. You can grab a meal on the rooftop but your best bet is to have your food inside the restaurant and aim for drinks on the rooftop.

2. Jada Lounge

Jada has an impressive view of Sanusi Fafunwa street, Victoria Island which is home to a lot of corporate offices. It’s a perfect location for after-work drinks if you work in Victoria Island and could be a good place to sit out traffic from. The only potential issue is that there is an open-air bar next door which may be distracting.

3. Turaka

If you’re looking for an upscale rooftop to hang out, then Turaka may be perfect for you. It’s at the rooftop of the unmissable Ebony Life Place, Victoria Island. This casual rooftop could serve as a perfect date night location or a hangout spot to enjoy live music. Turaka also has quite a mature crowd which is not very surprising considering the location and its owner. The menu is a fusion of continental and local delicacies. It’s a rooftop spot that holds a lot of promise.

4. Atmosphere Rooftop

Atmosphere is what I’d call a perfect rooftop restaurant, this is because you can enjoy an indoor restaurant experience and a decent open bar. The ambience is great, for brunches or late-night hangouts. Atmosphere comes highly recommended by us.

5. The View Rooftop

Definitely the nicest rooftop in Lagos and a personal favourite, The View rooftop stands in a class of its own. Overlooking the Lagos lagoon, this rooftop restaurant makes for a beautiful location to see the island from the top (they’ve got a fancy telescope). the rooftop of the Twin Waters entertainment centre where you could enjoy other fun experiences.

6. The Nest

Want to visit a rooftop spot on the mainland, try The Nest. While it seems like mainland folks have been cheated of nice places, this spot steps in. Located in Lagos’s silicon valley, Yaba, The Nest is the rooftop of a workspace of the same name. It has a pretty decent ambience and as you can expect, a pocket-friendly menu, although, the service can be a tad too slow. One more good thing about this place- is you may find one or two good looking tech bro/sis which makes for a quality crowd.
